Governor Ekiti's Kayode Fayemi, with agreement, has emerged as the new chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF).
Abdul & # 39; aziz Yari of Zamfara, who is also the chair of the Governor's Forum, reported this after a meeting held in Abuja on Wednesday night.
Yari reported that Fayemi was nominated by Malam Nasir El-Rufai in Kaduna State, appointed by Delta Governor of Ifeanyi Okowa, and unanimously elected at the General Assembly to lead the forum until 2021.
"The members were also elected governors," said Sokoto State's Aminu Tambuwal as vice chairman of the Forum from 2019 to 2021.
I explained that Tambuwal was nominated by the governor. Dispatched from Akinwumi Ambode, Lagos State, and his Ondo State counterpart, Gov. Rotimia keredore.
Read to the communiqué at the end of the meeting, Yari said the forum was related to the recent guidelines of the Financial Information Unit (NFIU) in Nigeria.
The required guidelines limit the ability of states and local governments to operate within the scope of parameters approved by the Constitution.
"The new guidelines do not have a legal basis under the NFIU Act, and are against a constitutional provision that puts the state municipality account under the law of the legislature.
"These guidelines are for national and local governments, such as universal basic education programs, disability programs such as primary health care under one roof, and salaries for teachers, healthcare workers and healthcare workers. It also has a negative impact on profits: anything else funded by the state government. "
After asking the governor of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to declare an emergency on the issue of anxiety, Yari said that he agreed to meet President Muhammadu Buhari in a one-on-one debate.
"The security issue is under the command of the president. He is a senior aide and we want him to come up with a solution, so we support him," he said. .
In his acceptance statement, Fayemi expressed his gratitude for the confidence given to him by his colleagues.
I pledged to build on his predecessors achievements and forum success stories.
"We will strengthen our commitment as a unit in strong partnership with the federal government and resolve issues as smoothly as possible for the benefit of the country," he said.
I have pledged that they represent the interests of Nigeria regardless of their political affiliation.
"All we are going to do will be the nation's overall benefit in assuring that our condition is continuously strengthened.
"The country enjoys a strong and dedicated public benefit, cooperation with all sectors of the government, and a partnership with development partners for all the benefits of Nigeria.
I commended the Chair and the Secretariat for their commitment to the state and Nigeria in general.
