Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), accused Nigerian media of suspicion of a crack between himself and the government. Godwin Obaseki, explaining his successor as his brother.
Osioum Hall spoke at the Iyamo's mansion in Estaco West Autonomous Region in Edo when he received Obaseki, who led the minister to celebrate the Eid El Kabir Festival with his former boss.
Oshiomhole spoke to journalists after a private meeting that lasted about an hour and said the meeting was not unusual because he was in constant contact with Obaseki.
According to Osioum Hall, “We are always meeting. Since this is not an unusual visit, this meeting gave me the opportunity to meet my brothers and the people I worked with.”
Osio Hall explained the apparent crack as an unfortunate creation of people and media with personal interest.
Obaseki said his visit to his predecessor was not unusual, saying he decided to celebrate his boss and Salah.
He said the visit was to celebrate Edo leaders, just as the former APC head of state, Prime Minister John Odigi Oyegun, was celebrated by the state early that day.
“There is nothing unusual about this conference. Today is Salah. We have finished the celebration with the head of Benin City's former APC National Chairman John Odigy Oyegun.
“And I decided to come here to celebrate Salah with my predecessor,” the governor said.
He added that anyone who thinks there is a crack between him and his predecessor should stop thinking that way.
